Social Media Makeover

2009 June 8
by Aneta Hall

It was late last summer (August 2008) when I drove to Boston to attend my first social media unconference – Boston PodCamp 3. I got in, registered and sat down to scan my emails. As crowd started to gather I quickly realized that 1) I was seriously overdressed in my business suit 2) I did have a twitter handle to write on my event badge and 3) I was pretty much the only one who did not carry a flip video camera or some other voice or video recording device. #fail

Fast-forward to June 2009. Here I am back in Boston for MarketingProf’s B2B forum proudly displaying my twitter handle on my badge, live tweeting from every event session, making connections with “virtual” event attendees and having people great me as friends even though we’ve only met online through Twitter, blog trackbacks or LinkedIn/Facebook groups.

And guess what? Here comes the best part… Greg Verdino invited me to speak and share my social media story as a panelist during his session. How is that for a social media makeover?

Do you have a social media makeover to share?
